What Is Endodontic Therapy?

Endodontic therapy
commonly known
as a root canal

is a specialized dental procedure that removes infected or inflamed
tissue (the pulp) from inside your tooth. By cleaning, disinfecting,
and sealing the root canals, this treatment relieves pain and prevents
the infection from spreading—ultimately allowing you to keep
your natural tooth rather than extracting it.

a Root Canal

3. Cleaning & Shaping

4. Filling & Sealing

• A biocompatible filling material (such as gutta-percha) is placed inside the canals, followed by a permanent or temporary filling to seal the tooth against future infection.

5. Restoration

• In many cases, a crown or other type of restoration is recommended to protect the tooth and restore its normal function.
